BLACK
PEAT: This product, which has proven so successful with orchardists and vineyardists in the replanting of fruit trees and vines, comes from below the top layer of Peat Moss. Strongly humified (naturally decomposed for over 3000 years without direct contact with the oxygen in the air), Black Peat has been used in studies by the Pacific Agri-Food Research Center in Summerland, British Columbia. It has been shown to "increase root and leaf growth and reduces the effects of replant disease and shock."

| Less fibrous then Peat Moss but with a ruptured colloidal mass gives it a more open structure and thereby higher water and air capacities. |

SCREENED ORGANIC TOP SOIL:
Virgin topsoil from our bog blended with Peat Moss, Black Peat, sand, volcanic ash is then screened to remove roots, rocks, and other naturally occurring debris. This process gives a product that is abundant in organic matter, holds moisture and nutrients and does not require further mixing with native soils. Ready to use for new lawns, seeded or sod, flower beds, trees, and shrubs. Use it wherever a high quality and consistent top soil is required.

SAND AND PEAT: A pre-mixed blend of screened sand and Peat Moss/Black Peat. Used as a top dressing for lawns since the sand carries and holds the peat close to the roots, and as an amendment to heavy clay soils, providing organic matter and coarse material to break up the clay.
